Phone System Outage Tuesday 29th July 2025 09:45:00

Due to issues with our upstream telecom provider, we are currently experiencing issues with calls coming into campus from outside of campus. This issue is currently causing issues on the Corvallis and Newport campuses, and could also be causing issues with cell phone providers (Verizon, AT&T).

The Corvallis Campus still can not receive incoming phone calls. Estimated repair time is around 3:00 am. Continue to call the City of Corvallis non emergency number at 541-766-6911, or 911 if you have an emergency.

There is a phone service outage in Benton county that started earlier today and is ongoing. The provider Lumen has reported they are in the process of repairing a fiber cut outside of Corvallis. There is no estimated time of repair yet.

What is affected:

  • Current widespread phone outages is impacting 9-1-1 services. If you cannot get through, call 541-766-6911 to reach emergency dispatch.
  • Inbound calls to Corvallis campus are not coming through
  • Some cell phone traffic is not going through, reported from all major carriers.
  • Outbound calls from the OSU Corvallis campus are going through (rerouted through OSU gear in Portland.)
  • Some soft phone users are not able to log in. Soft phone users are not able to receive inbound calls.
